International Vacancy - Crisis Group, New York Office

CRISIS GROUP – NEW YORK OFFICE

The International Crisis Group (Crisis Group) is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organisation, with some 130 staff members on five continents, working through field-based analysis and high-level advocacy to prevent and resolve deadly conflict. We are currently looking for a highly motivated and capable staff member who will be working at our New York office.

FUNDRAISING OFFICER
ROLE:
The Fundraising Officer will provide support to the Directors of Private Sector Initiatives with particular focus on overall relations and reporting with Crisis Group’s Council and major prospects as well as the identification and cultivation of new private donors with a view to increasing Crisis Group’s donor base.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaining all records and promotional materials related to contributions made from private sector sources (individuals, family foundations and corporations) and drafting regular reports for circulation amongst staff and Board on fundraising initiatives and outcomes;Overseeing scheduling and preparation of development related meetings and events with senior Crisis Group staff;Drafting solicitation and acknowledgement letters and materials;Creating and managing annual giving campaigns;Organizing cultivation and appreciation eventsTraining new interns to maintain and update Crisis Group’s development database, Raisers Edge;Prospect and donor researchAd-hoc administrative and other tasks as required.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 3-4 years fundraising and/or event planning experience;
Superior attention to details;
Interest in, and knowledge of, international affairs or related fields;
Excellent writing and researching skills;
Ability to work independently or as part of a team and to deal with a changing work environment;
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, a can-do attitude and a high degree of initiative;
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple time-sensitive tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment;
Ability to accurately manage financial data;
Excellent computer skills required, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Raiser's Edge desired;
Authorization to work in the US is required.
