COMMUNITY HEALTH SPECIALIST (1 position)
Location: Cross River Zone
The Community Health Specialist will provide technical assistance in the design, implementation, and evaluation of all aspects of community health as well as LGA-based health management, especially with respect to integrated HIV/AIDS, S/RH, TB and malaria at the LGA and state levels.

Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and provide technical assistance for health system strengthening for the implementation of the LGA HAST model of HIV/AIDS, S/RH and TB care activities, as well as the integration of malaria, MCH and all aspects of community and LGA management of health services
• Work with PHC coordinators, LGA TB supervisors, LACA coordinators, LGA malaria officers and other program officers in the LGA to monitor guidelines and recommendations related to the implementation of health system strengthening strategies in the LGA
• Facilitate the transfer of appropriate skills to community health workers at the PHC, community volunteers, TBAs and people living with HIV and families for HIV/AIDS, STI, TB, malaria, MCH and the prevention, care and support for other diseases
• Work with implementing agencies (community-based organizations), LGA PHC coordinators, LGA TB supervisors, LACA coordinators, LGA welfare/women development officers and PHC personnel to facilitate the implementation of high quality HIV/AIDS, STI, TB, malaria and MCH services including OVC and NCD activities within the LGA
• Work with other staff of the GHAIN Medical Services Department to ensure synergy relevant to the implementation and documentation of the LGA HAST model and health system strengthening components of state programs
• Work with the State TB Control Program, SACA, State Malaria Program and other organizations relevant to the LGA health management and health system strategies
• Ensure close collaboration with other PHC and disease control programs within the LGA
• Remain informed on current program strategies in the field of HIV/AIDS, S/RH, TB, malaria, MCH, health systems strengthening, etc

Minimum Requirements
• MBBS with at least 3 years post-NYSC experience in community health practice with experience in care and support for HIV/AIDS, STI and tuberculosis at the primary health facility or community level
• Postgraduate degree in public health Sound understanding of the district health systems, LGA TB technical areas and experience with ART programs
• Familiarity with the Nigerian public sector health system, NGOs and CBOs
