MONITORING AND EVALUATION OFFICER (1 position)
Location: Cross River Zone
The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, under the supervision of the zonal Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and Zonal Manager, and with technical oversight from the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation, will be responsible for implementing monitoring and evaluation activities for the zonal office.
Key Responsibilities
• Work with other staff in the zonal office and local implementing partners to ensure that zonal monitoring and evaluation activities are appropriate and meet donor and project M&E needs
• Work with the zonal level M&E staff and government counterparts to provide support and guidance on program/project monitoring and evaluation activities and on US Government and Government of Nigeria reporting requirements
• Provide support to sites in the zone, including interacting with site program managers, M&E focal persons, M&E officers of SACA/SASCP, other implementing agencies and local research groups on M&E needs and ensure that these parties understand and can support these requirements
• Work with local partners to support correct implementation and use of monitoring and evaluation tools, and adherence to complete, correct and timely reporting.
• Conduct routine monitoring visits to project sites, including conducting data quality assessments using official tools
• Assist in the preparation of monthly reports and provide supportive supervision
• Assist in the development and maintenance of computerized data capture of the program and provide technical assistance and training to staff responsible for data entry at the sites
• Provide technical assistance to M&E officers of SACA/SASCP in integrating FHI data into the national HMIS
• Document lessons learnt and best practices in monitoring and evaluation, according to USAID and PEPFAR guidelines.
• Represent FHI and make presentations at professional meetings and conferences related to monitoring and evaluation Remain informed of current issues regarding monitoring and evaluation of programs in the HIV/AIDS/STI fields by reviewing current literature and being alert to any implication of such research for project and program activities
Minimum Requirements
• MD with 3 years work experience or similar degree in monitoring and evaluation, or an MPH with 3 years work experience
• Experience in monitoring and evaluation in reproductive health or HIV/AIDS programs in developing countries
• Experience working with local partners, including NGOs and CBOs, and knowledge of the local context Familiarity with USAID programs is preferred
